The dark chocolate bars from Bounty and Mounds seem to be similar. They each come with a two-piece candy bar with a chocolate covering. You may possibly believe they have similar tastes. However, as you may be aware, various aspects distinguish them. So, what is the difference between Mounds and Bounty?

Mounds are coated in dark chocolate, whilst Bounty is covered with creamy milk chocolate. Mounds is more about the chocolate and less on the filling, while Bounty is all about the coconut filling. This elevates Bounty creamer over Mounds. Mounds and Bounty both include a chewy and delicious coconut filling.

But it doesn’t mean one is superior to the other. They’re both delicious delights with a distinct coconut fragrance that I like. That’s not everything. I will go into great depth below about the other distinctions between these two.

Bounty vs. Mounds: Differences

Before we begin, let’s look at a cheat sheet.

Aside from the stuffing, another notable distinction is the taste. Mounds have a single flavor with a dark chocolate covering, but Bounty has two flavors with a milk chocolate and a dark chocolate coating.

Appearance and Size

Mounds and Bounty are both tiny rectangular forms the same size. Mounds, on the other hand, seem to be somewhat larger than Bounty. It only weighs 0.10 pounds each bar, but a Bounty bar weighs 0.12 pounds per bar.

You may envision another difference in their hues since Mounds is a dark chocolate bar and Bounty is a milk chocolate bar. Mounds is a darker chocolate, while Bounty is a light brown chocolate.

Bounty is distinguished by three waves on top. Mounds, on the other hand, lack the distinctive waves yet cannot be described as flat. Mounds feature some little waves as well, although they are not clearly discernible and are positioned at random.

I can also detect a little fake Mounds bar, which pulls me away from this establishment. However, I can’t claim I taste it in Bounty.

Popularity and Origin

Most people are unaware that Mounds were the first to be made in 1920, by Vincent Nitido, before being bought by the Hershey Company. Mounds chocolate bars are distributed throughout Europe and the United States.

Then, 31 years later, in 1951, Mars Incorporated introduced Bounty to the market. The chocolate bar is quite similar to the Mounds bar in that it has a coconut filling that is wrapped in creamy chocolate. The chocolate bar Bounty is particularly popular in Europe and Canada.

Price

Because there are few Bounty bar merchants in the United States, the retail price fluctuates based on shipping and availability, but may be obtained for roughly $5 for one bar.

Mounds bar costs around $2.50 as a normal reward.

Bounty vs. Mounds: Which Is Better?

I suggest the Bounty bar if you enjoy creamy coconut candy bars with more coconut filling. Bounty beats Mounds every time due of its creaminess and milky taste.

If you like a strong dark chocolate taste, the Mounds chocolate bar is a great option.

Is Bounty the Same as Almond Joy?

While they both contain a coconut filling, they are nothing alike. The milk chocolate covering, crunchy almonds, and not-too-sweet coconut filling of the Almond Joy. There are no almonds in the Bounty bar. It comes in two flavors and has a more sweeter coconut filling.
